Developed by Black Box, Skate 3 sends skaters to Port Caverton, a brand new city that promises to be, “a true skater’s paradise with unique districts, skate parks, and endless lines.”
Don’t like what you find in the city? Take matters into your own hands with the new Skate.Park editor. Extensively reshape Port Calverton, or create your own custom skate park. It’s up to you.
But what about gamers, like myself, who could use (more than) a little practice before they take to the streets? Once again, Skate 3 has got it covered. Skate.School, an all new mode, can help newcomers learn the ropes, and help Skate vetrans take it to the next level.
Now, we all know that a school can only be as good as its teacher, and that’s where Coach Frank comes in. Have a look at Coach Frank’s Skate.School trailer:

Hey, is it just me, or does that Coach Frank bear an uncanny – and I mean UNCANNY – resemblance to My Name Is Earl/Almost Famous/Alvin and the Chipmunks actor Jason Lee? No? Maybe I’m confusing him with someone else.
In any case, the last two Skate games had a ton of fans, and there is no reason to think the newest installment will be any different. Though we’ve known for some time that a third game was on the way, I’m not sure anyone believed we’d see it quite this soon. There is really nothing else like Skate 3 on the horizon, and it could be a great change of pace from what we’ve all been playing so far this year. Will you be picking up a copy?
Skate 3 grinds onto the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 May 11th North America, May 14th for the rest of the world.
