Circlets are pieces of bejeweled headgear, worn in place of a helmet or hood. Fans will likely come across a multitude of them in their playthroughs. Some are enchanted, while others are more for show than anything else. Nevertheless, there exist in the game a select few circlets that are highly unique, not to mention useful and valuable. Finding them, however, is another matter.

6 Circlet Of Waterbreathing

Where To Find It: Forgotten Vale, inside the Inner Sanctum ( Dawnguard DLC)

Unless a player’s character is an Argonian, breathing underwater can be a bit of an issue. The Circlet of Waterbreathing, a one-of-a-kind item, can fix that problem. Finding it, however, takes a little patience. Players may obtain this unique circlet by braving the dangers of the Inner Sanctum as part of the Dawnguard main questline.

The Circlet of Waterbreathing can be found while completing “Touching the Sky.” When the Dragonborn enters the interior of the Inner Sanctum, head north. Players will come to a back room where a Falmer shaman stands encased in ice. In his frozen grip is the Circlet of Waterbreathing. Be warned, though, that taking the circlet causes the shaman and his allies to burst from their icy prisons. Be ready for a fight!

5 The Aetherial Crown

Where To Find It: The Aetherium Forge, Ruins of Bthalft

The Aetherial Crown is certainly one of the most impressive circlets in the entire game. It’s also perhaps the most difficult to obtain, considering the crown is connected to one of the longest, most drawn-out quests in Skyrim: “Lost to the Ages.” The Aetherial Crown is one of three possible rewards for completing that quest. A comprehensive guide for “Lost to the Ages” can be found here.

Crafting the Aetherial Crown requires the use of the Aetherium Forge. Players will also need 2 Dwarven Metal Ingots, 2 Gold Ingots, 2 Flawless Sapphires, and the Aetherium Crest itself. The main strength of the Aetherial Crown is that it allows players to retain two Standing Stone powers at the same time.

4 Mage’s Circlet

Where To Find It: the College of Winterhold, given by Savos Aren

The Mage’s Circlet, unsurprisingly, is a great boon for magic users. Best of all, acquiring it isn’t terribly difficult. Players must simply join the College of Winterhold and progress through its main questline. The Mage’s Circlet is given as a reward by Savos Aren for completing “Good Intentions,” which involves finding the Augur of Dunlain within the Midden.

Pure mage builds will find this artifact especially useful. The Mage’s Circlet possesses a +70 Fortify Magicka enchantment when worn. This is a massive boost, particularly for players who haven’t mastered the finer points of the Enchanting skill. Running out of Magicka becomes less of an issue with this headgear equipped.

3 Diadem Of The Savant

Where To Find It: Shalidor’s Maze, East Side of Labyrinthian

It’s no surprise that some of the most valuable magical circlets are connected with the College of Winterhold questline. The Diadem of the Savant can be found in Shalidor’s Maze, a section of Labyrinthian. Players will head to Labyrinthian as part of “The Staff of Magnus” quest.

At the end of the maze, players will confront a leveled Dremora, who serves as the final boss. Kill him and loot the Diadem of the Savant from his corpse. This circlet provides a jack-of-all-trades buff to one’s magical skills. It bestows +5 Fortification each to Alteration, Destruction, Illusion, Restoration, and Conjuration, reducing the Magicka cost for all spells from these schools.

2 Wedding Wreath

Where To Find It: Solitude, on the corpse of Vittoria Vici

The Wedding Wreath is definitely unique, but not all that useful. It contains no enchantments or armor values. Rather, it serves as more of a memento that players can acquire acquired as part of the Dark Brotherhood questline. Specifically, the Wedding Wreath appears during “Bound Until Death.”

In that quest, players are tasked with assassinating the Emperor of Tamriel’s cousin, Vittoria Vici, on her wedding day. No matter how the unfortunate bride is dispatched, fans can loot the wreath from her once the deed has been done. Perhaps they display it inside their home? No one will come looking for homicide evidence.

1 Revyn Sadri’s Circlet

Where To Find It: Windhelm, Sadri’s Used Wares

This is a bit of an odd one and is often considered a bug. However, if players visit Sadri’s Used Wares in the Gray Quarter of Windhelm, they may notice a unique circlet for sale. The item in question is labeled Revyn Sadri’s Copper and Onyx Circlet.

It possesses no enchantment or otherwise distinguishing features. The only aspect of it that makes the circlet unique is its name. Nevertheless, if a player does happen to come across this piece of jewelry in Revyn Sadri’s inventory, why not purchase it? It’s a weird little artifact that completionists may want to acquire.
