Players often come across atypical incidents in the game, like strange enemy behavior in Skyrim and weapons that heal enemies instead of damaging them. Moreover, The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim has many bizarre glitches, which can sometimes be hilarious while other times can be completely unexpected and scary, as a Reddit user found out.

Reddit user ew-Objective-6526 uploaded a video that shows an unusual occurrence in the Whiterun area of Skyrim. Generally, Whiterun is a bustling town full of life and people, many of whom can interact with the player. However, ew-Objective-6526’s video shows an entirely different version of Whiterun, which appears to be taken from a horror movie. The footage shows ew-Objective-6526’s character walking around the town, which is engulfed in a mysterious mist, making it look like a ghost town. This strange, misty substance is everywhere in Whiterun, including streets, buildings, and alleyways.

The interesting thing is that people are still present in Whiterun, despite being surrounded by the mysterious fog. Moreover, the post’s title indicates that this odd phenomenon was caused due to a Skyrim bug when the user jumped into a pool. At the same time, many members of the Skyrim community on Reddit compared the video to the popular survival horror franchise Silent Hill. Some users said the modding community should work on a mod that makes The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim more like Silent Hill, like the aforementioned video.

Many people don’t know that Whiterun is among the most crucial areas in Skyrim, as it is the capital city of the Whiterun Hold region. It is the first hold that players visit in the game and is full of unique characters and quests. Despite being a well-known place, many gamers have questions about Whiterun which are still unanswered. Players often wonder where Nazeem lives and why Irileth left Morag Tong, the assassin guild.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
