Reddit user MayRey appears to love the map of Skyrim so much that they’ve taken the style that it’s drawn in and applied it to a real-world country, the Netherlands. Any fan of the game or even of the Elder Scrolls series in general, will no doubt recognize the aesthetic that they’ve gone for. They’ve even incorporated the hold emblems to represent the regional capitals, including Amsterdam. In general, the user has evidently put in a lot of effort, stating that they wanted to lay out as much as they could without overloading the map.

The Elder Scrolls map of Tamriel is one that most fans of the franchise will be familiar with. It’s been the cornerstone of the series since day one, especially in Arena and Daggerfall where players select the region that their character comes from. It’s ingrained in the minds of many, serving as the visual representation of where each game is set. MayRey’s interpretation of the Netherlands is a fascinating piece of artwork that demonstrates not only their love of Skyrim, but also of the country itself.
It shows that, after all these years, the fan base is still awash with many dedicated players who like to bring the long-running series into the real world in numerous forms. True that many Skyrim players want Bethesda to hurry up with The Elder Scrolls 6, but it cannot be said that the 2011 epic RPG has not had a good run, which doesn’t seem to be ending any time soon.
It could be a while before the next installment sees the light of day, but with Starfield due for release in 2023 and gameplay footage being shown off recently, there’s hope that the developer will be ready to discuss more on TES6 soon. After all, it’s been at least four years since there was even any hint about the next game, and fans have been more than patient.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
