The Adventures of Tintin is a French/Belgian adventure comic book that was published from 1929-1976 and written by Georges Prosper Remi under the pen name Herge. It primarily followed the story of the character Tintin as he embarked on adventures and hunts for treasure and lost artifacts. The game’s supporting characters include the cynical, alcoholic ship captain, Captain Haddock, Tintin’s faithful dog, Snowy, the bumbling police officers Thompson and Thompson, the hard-of-hearing Professor Calculus, and opera singer Bianca Castafiore. Currently, a Tintin-based video game is in development from developer Moulinsart and French publisher Microids.

In the past, gamers have created their own tributes to Tintin in some unexpected ways. One player, for example, molded their Red Dead Redemption character after Captain Haddock, who was played by Andy Serkis in the 2011 film adaptation. In a recent post, Reddit user Kabooski123 shared a fun Skyrim crossover with Tintin. The image in question had the titular character facing down a Frost Troll as he ascended the 7,000 steps to gain an audience with The Greybeards.
The Skyrim art in question is drawn in a style that pays homage to the original Tintin comics. The coloring of the artwork is identical to that of the original comics and features the same minimalist style the books used. Tintin’s dog Snowy can also be seen at his side as the two confront the Frost Troll, with the title altered to The Fake Adventures of Tintin. Hopefully, the battle doesn’t result in Tintin dying and sliding down the entire Skyrim mountain.
In the addition to the upcoming game, The Adventures of Tintin was adapted into the 2011 Steven Spielberg film of the same name. Two more sequels were put into development, but sadly never went into production, and the franchise largely fell out of the popular conscience. However, the gaming world has not allowed the series to be forgotten. Last year, developer Robotality has revealed how Tintin inspired the Pathway’s setting, and the previously mentioned tributes show that the franchise still has its fans. Hopefully, this means that Skyrim fans will see similar tributes hit the internet before too long.
The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
