Reddit user t_sekuloski recently posted a picture of themselves holding a Skyrim Staff of Destruction that they’d created themselves by hand carving it out of beech wood. Replying to a number of comments, t_sekulosk revealed that the project took 12 hours to complete and the result weighs about 1.5 kg. The completed item is a pretty impressive looking facsimile of one of the game’s staves, with some intricate carving for added detail.

Mages of Tamriel use a variety of staves in Skyrim which offer up a number of spells, including the aforementioned destruction spell, thanks to their different enchantments, such as lightning, explosive fireballs, and freezing winds. Other staves wield alteration spells, which can reanimate dead bodies or summon creatures, and there are also restoration staves that can heal their targets.
Unsurprisingly, then, a few people in the Reddit thread have jokingly suggested that t_sekuloski join the College of Winterhold. This is also not the first time the user has made something like this. A couple of months ago, they made their own Skyrim Dragon Priest Mask, as well as some more Staffs of Destruction, which were again carved out of wood with some excellent detailing. Clearly, this person has a talent for creating real-life versions of Skyrim artifacts and weapons.
As for the continuation of the franchise, many are starting to get a little impatient, given that this installment has been out and re-released multiple times for years now. With one player posting Skyrim screenshots every day until Elder Scrolls 6 comes out, it’s clear that the community is ready to move forward. However, with no word from Bethesda about when the next game will be out or even if it’s officially in development, fans will just have to keep playing the current games and keep creating impressive replicas.
The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim - Anniversary Edition is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
