One of the more understated but exciting aspects of Skyrim is its character creator. In the base version of Skyrim, the character creator can allow players to make an impressive array of characters. One player even managed to build Thor in Skyrim, and even without mods, the character looks extremely similar to how Thor looks in the MCU. Though, mods have allowed players an additional layer of realism to the character creator, as one player recently illustrated.

Over on Reddit, a user named AureliaRiddle showed off a cool image that details the characters in Skyrim she made that depict both her and her father. The side-by-side images show just how detailed and realistic the characters are to their real-world counterparts. Not to mention how much the mods add to the in-game characters in terms of both textures and lighting.

The fact that this user was able to recreate herself and her father with such a high level of detail is extremely impressive to see. For years now, players have pushed the limits of Skyrim in creative new directions, but a lot of the more ubiquitous in-game features like Skyrim’s character creator tend to get overlooked by comparison to all the crazy things players have managed to do within the game world.

It’s amazing that Skyrim’s popularity has continued to persist this long after its initial launch to the point where it has continued to impact new players in unexpected ways. This is likely due to the recent release of Skyrim: Anniversary Edition, which not only added new in-game content but also made mods more accessible for console players.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for The Elder Scrolls series going forward. It’s been nearly 1500 days since The Elder Scrolls 6 announcement at E3 2018, and in that time, Bethesda has released little to no new information regarding the development of the game. With any luck, new details on The Elder Scrolls 6 will be revealed in the months to come.

The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim is available for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS3, PS4, PS5, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
