As Skyrim fans wait for the next installment in the franchise, many of them are using unique mods to make the game more enjoyable, such as one particular mod that allows gamers to add a hot dog stand in Skyrim. Meanwhile, other people are using creation tools in other games to recreate iconic moments or places from Skyrim. One of these is Far Cry 5, which many consider to be among the most creative games from Ubisoft.

Reddit user mojoswoptops2020 is one such player who leveraged the sophisticated creation tools of Far Cry 5’s famous map editor mode to recreate one of the most memorable places from Skyrim, the Western Watchtower. The user spent more than four hours in the map editor to bring Skyrim’s Western Watchtower to the world of Far Cry 5. Fellow Redditors were highly impressed by mojoswoptops2020’s creation, as many initially believed they were looking at a modded version of Skyrim. Interestingly, many Reddit users were unaware of the map editor mode in Far Cry 5.

For those who don’t know, the Western Watchtower is a stone tower in the western part of Skyrim’s Whiterun area and is used by the Whiterun Guard. The building makes its first appearance in the “Dragon Rising” quest, after which it can be seen as a map icon. The tower appears destroyed if players try to visit it before the aforementioned quest. Whiterun is among the most popular areas from Skyrim as many people have tried to recreate it in other games. One Skyrim fan created Whiterun in Valheim, for example, while another one brought it into the world of Sims 4.

This is not the first time that gamers have used Far Cry 5’s map editor mode to design memorable locations from other games. Gamers have previously created more sites from Skyrim in Far Cry 5, including Breezehome, while another fan designed the canyon area from Resident Evil 4 in Far Cry 5 using the same creation tools.

Far Cry 5’s map editor mode is considered by many to be one of the best in class, as evident by these numerous examples of people creating iconic places. Naturally, most fans were disappointed by the lack of a map editor feature in Far Cry 6.

Far Cry 5 is available now for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One.
