Sunder and Wraithguard are two of the three Tools of Kagrenac, while Keening is already available in the base game. The Tools of Kagrenac were used by the Dwemer to tap into the Heart of Lorkhan, an Aedric artifact thought to be the reason the Dwemer disappeared and the source of power for the former Living Gods. Needless to say, this set of tools is steeped in Morrowind legend.
Sunder and Wraithguard Effects And Stats
While Keening is a one-handed Dagger, Sunder is a one-handed Hammer and Wraithguard is a heavy gauntlet designed to help control the raw energies and powers contained within each weapon.
When all three Tools of Kagrenac are equipped, they gain additional bonuses, though they don’t quite allow the player to ascend to Godhood like the Tribunal (that requires finding the Heart of Lorkhan, after all).
Sunder

Tools of Kagrenac Full Set Bonus
When Keening and Sunder are equipped alongside Wraithguard, each weapon gains an additional bonus. Because Keening and Sunder are both one-handed weapons, it’s recommended to build a Dual-Wielding character to make the most out of this build. These bonuses are still conferred if the player only wields one or the other, but Wraithguard must also be equipped.
Keening Bonuses Gained: Health and Stamina increased by 20, Magicka increased by 50 Sunder Bonuses Gained: One-Handed Weapon damage increased by 15%, Stamina Regeneration increased by 50%
How To Get Sunder and Wraithguard
The last two Tools of Kagrenac can be found in the Legends Lost quest, which is included in Anniversary Edition as part of the Sunder and Wraithguard creation. The quest is started by heading to the New Gnisis Cornerclub in Windhelm, in the Gray Quarter section of the city dedicated to Dark Elf refugees, and reading the Lost Caravan Guard’s Note.
After this, players are tasked with finding several lost caravans all over Skyrim to triangulate an enigmatic piece of cargo. Eventually, the player locates the Sightless Pit, which leads to a Vault containing a variety of steam puzzles and a fight with a powerful Dwarven Centurion. Downing this boss will reveal Sunder and Wraithguard, though keep in mind that the Tools of Kagrenac are at their most powerful when wielded in triplicate. Keening can be found in the Arniel’s Endeavor quest at the College of Winterhold.
