In a recent post on the Skyrim subReddit, user Eddiemoreno has uploaded a very brief clip of their playthrough. During the footage, they can be seen performing a shout in the direction of Nazeem, the Redguard who saunters around the city of Whiterun. While this doesn’t kill the much-hated character, it does cause them to fling backwards. In doing so, this inexplicably causes a nearby guard to wield their weapon and head straight for the NPC. Others soon join, and Nazeem is quickly dispatched for seemingly no reason. The player is then admonished by the guard for shouting, but otherwise gets off scot-free despite injuring a civilian.

For those who are perhaps less familiar with the game, Nazeem is one of Skyrim’s most hated characters. Most players admit that his snobbery can cause them to initiate a quicksave before offing the NPC. The reason why he’s so hated is due to his catchphrase, in which, apropos of nothing, he will ask the Dragonborn whether they get to the city’s Cloud District very often. Before a response can be given, Nazeem immediately says, “Oh what am I saying. Of course you don’t,” in that very snooty manner that has caused him to see the end of a blade many times. In this case, it was one of Whiterun’s own guards that shut him up for good.

The game has been out since 2011, so that means there have been more than a few attempts to murder the elitist Redguard. Some Skyrim players like to kill Nazeem with a neat trick shot, and there’s even been one person who has dedicated every day to bludgeoning him until The Elder Scrolls 6 comes out.

With Bethesda discounting a load of games to celebrate QuakeCon 2022, there’s now a greater opportunity for newcomers to pick up a copy of Skyrim. As a result, it looks as though even more players are going to happen upon one of Tamriel’s most despised NPCs, which means Nazeem may meet a lot more gruesome ends.

The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
