Glass armor and weapons lend players the opportunity to control faster, stealthier characters that prefer to move silently or take out enemies from a distance. Crafting this type of weapon and armor requires the Glass Smithing perk in the Smithing Skill Tree which can be unlocked after level 70, making it one of the late-game smithing sets in Skyrim.

Glass armor and weapons are arguably the most visually appealing sets in the game, but this does not lessen their effectiveness. Players seeking to create an assassin or thief build will surely make the move to Glass, as it is one of the better styles of craftable light armor and weapons in the game, second only to Dragonscale.
4 S-Tier
Chillrend : With a base damage of 15 points, which will be higher if the player is at a higher level when acquiring the blade, Chillrend is one of the best one-handed weapons in Skyrim . What makes it so great is the added effect which deals additional damage to the target. With each hit, the target takes 30 points of Frost damage and even has the possibility of paralyzing the target for 2 seconds. It can be found in the tunnels beneath the Riftweald Manor during the quest, “The Pursuit. ” Grimsever : Like Chillrend, this is also a unique one-handed sword. While it has a base damage of only 12, it also does 15 points of Frost damage to both the target’s Health and Stamina. There are a few ways to acquire this blade. It is located at the end of the Mzinchaleft Gatehouse and can be obtained at any time in that location. It can also be acquired during the quest “Retrieve Grimsever,” which is given to the player by Mjoll the Lioness. Players can also acquire the blade after the quest when Mjoll becomes a follower. Glass Bow of The Stag Prince : A unique bow with an enchantment that gets stronger as more animals are killed. The base damage of the bow is 16, while its effect gives players a boost to their Health and Stamina. This effect increases by 5 points for every 20 animals killed and will continue to increase until the effect is at 25 points. This makes it especially useful in Skyrim Anniversary Edition’s Survival Mode . It can be acquired from Falas Selvayn at the Ramshackle Trading Post.
3 A-Tier
Glass Armor Set : The fourth-best type of light armor in the game in terms of base armor rating with 76 points. It is also extremely light with a weight of 13 and is relatively easy to find without the need for crafting it. To find a full set, players will need to be level 36 and journey to the Thalmor Embassy, where two sets are being worn by Thalmor soldiers. Glass Bow : The glass bow is one of the fastest bows in Skyrim without the need for unique enchantments. It has a speed of 0. 6 shots a second with a base damage of 15. It is also one of the cheapest items to craft in the Glass category. Glass War Axe : The War Axe is probably the best crafted one-handed weapon in the Glass Smithing category. It has a base damage of 13 and a speed of 0. 9 hits per second. It has higher critical damage than the other one-handed glass weapons.
2 B-Tier
Glass Dagger : Since the Glass, armor set is geared towards stealth builds, the glass dagger is a good option. It has a base damage of 9, which can be greatly improved upon with the Backstab and Assassin’s Blade perks in the Sneak tree. It is lightweight and fast, making it the perfect weapon for assassinations. However, the option of better unique daggers means it does not get a higher rank on this list. Glass Shield : The glass shield is one of the best light option shields in the game with an armor rating of 27 and only 6 points of weight. That said, it does not stack up to the heavier shields in the game. Glass Sword : The glass sword is a good weapon for light-armor builds as it provides low weight and decent base damage. The base damage of the sword is 12 and the blade can be swung once per second, though the slightly lower critical damage stat puts it behind the War Axe in terms of effectiveness.
1 C-Tier
Glass Two-Handed Weapons : The Greatsword, Warhammer, and Battleaxe have the highest base damage in the Glass Smithing tree, but the slow swing rate coupled with the fact that the heavy smithing paths offer more damage means they are not the most effective two-handed weapons in Skyrim . Glass Mace : While the glass mace has a high base damage of 14 and a speed of 0. 8, the critical damage boost is not the best. As such, the value to weight ratio does not make it worth picking up when compared to the war axe.
